A note from Roger Sippl, CEO of Elastic Intelligence

June 22, 2012

It’s been a great week for Elastic Intelligence. On Tuesday, we launched the Connection Cloud.

Four years in the making, the Connection Cloud is the first real-time, SQL-based data connection service to SaaS application data. It completely revolutionizes how businesses can access their data in the cloud.

Companies are using more and more SaaS applications, but the only way to get access to your data is through the SaaS application’s user interface or through limited or sometimes non-existent APIs.  The Connection Cloud solves this problem.

The Connection Cloud provides a standard way for users and application developers to access data across their SaaS applications. Now users or developers can use any SQL capable BI, reporting or development tool to connect to the Connection Cloud and the Connection Cloud will translate the incoming SQL statement into what the APIs understand.

Furthermore, the Connection Cloud allows you to do really powerful things, like join different SaaS application data sources for reporting across sales, marketing and finance; or creating virtual views of data so that users can answer questions about the business, without having to engage IT support.

Elastic Intelligence is the culmination of my career as a software innovator.  Rachael King has written a great article in the CIO Journal of the Wall Street Journal explaining how the Connection Cloud will aid companies in accessing their data scattered across the cloud: http://on.wsj.com/LcwWKY
